Optimism

    Optimism is a strategy for making a better future.
   Because unless you believe that the future can be
   better, you are unlikely to step up and take
   responsibility for making it so.

Help us to be the always hopeful gardeners of the spirit,
Who know that without darkness nothing comes to birth
As without light nothing flowers.

In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry? ...

When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Still Small Voice Within

Only when we are silent can we begin to hear the voice that is truly our own – what the Quakers call “the still small voice within.” … The source of this voice – which may be without sound, and yet is heard – is called by many different names: the inner guide, guardian angel, spirit guide, the collective unconscious, or just plain intuition. Actually all of us hear the whispering of this voice every single day of our lives, but many ignore it.
